Update: Sunday @ 4:00PM:

Okay. So I was going to try and host a Live session for you guys at around 7pm. (Un)Fortunately (?), I have dinner plans now for 5pm, so I don't think I'll be home in time to run at that time. It might have to be later in the evening. I'll try to have one up and running for 8:30Pm.

Thanks for reading.

Alright so the Heatley deal has been finalized and Tim and I want to hear from you guys. Email us with your thoughts, feelings, ideas, humour, or whatever to the6thsens(at)live.com and we'll publish what is sent to us.

Also, I'm contemplating doing a Cover It Live Blog tomorrow night at around 7pm EST as an opportunity for you guys and gals to speak your mind.

Thanks for reading.

My first reaction was disappointment.

I thought that if a deal with San Jose was completed, Ryan Clowe and Logan Couture would be part of it.

However, I now feel relieved that this is over, and we no longer need to speculate over this. We know who will be playing, and where, and can just enjoy the game.

I also think that our team is better. They Senators lost the best player in the deal, and certainly did not get fair value for him. HOWEVER the team now has the greatest scoring depth it has probably ever had. The days of the "Big Three and everybody else" are no more. There is now the potential for three solid scoring lines. The top two look especially solid.

I certainly think this is a play-off team. With the distractions gone, and some solid team players inserted into the line-up, there is no reason why the Senators can't compete with New Jersey, Montreal, Carolina, Tampa Bay and Buffalo for the bottom four play-off positions. My guess is they finish 5th, behind only Washington, Boston, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Ding Dong the Bitchings Dead

All the Munchkins can come out the Bitch is Dead. His ego fell on him and crushed his head. Now we take our ruby RED (sens red) slippers and click three times thers no place like Stanley!! How will we contend against our East rivals? I believe the puzzle is fitting well but still we need to find what pieces go where. (speed+skill+grit)
Its only been 1 day after the trade and i have been to every blog or page i could find...now it seems that several sites think the Sens will place 3-6 in the east instead of 7-8 or not making the playoffs altogether.
I think Brian M. is not yet done but with what he had work with he has done a fine job. Oh and Cheechoo has been working out most of the summer unlike some showing me he has a drive to be better.(Sumthing the Sens need more of)

No sense lamenting what BM could have gotten if he waited. It's done. Maybe this deal could have been made in July, who knows. It seems so with the Michalek, Ehrhoff + pick rumour. So what's 6 weeks? 6 weeks we'd rather have back I guess. I'm cool with it as is, save the hindsight shit slinging for next season, after the draft etc (we'll know who the pick is). This is a deeper, more balanced team that should be playoff bound. More Euro flair, some bang and crash, a former sniper desperate to regain some face. I hope Neil saves a hit, like his one on Little, for Dany on Dec 1st, that would be sweet.

Oh another plus - no more blueballs.

Pass the Kleenex, we made it home. smilies/grin.gif

After reading Brennans sulking suckhole piece it makes me think he wanted him here for awhile longer. Now who is he gonna run out of town?

Contest or poll time? Who's Brennan's next Beyotch gonna be? Who's he gonna try and run outta town?

Cheechoo? Spezza? Kuba?

Filip Kuba 100%. Don's already ventured down that road and has gone on the record predicting that Kuba will only last one more year.
