You know what I was thinking? In light of yesterday's release of the top potential Playoff rentals by Kevin Allen of USA today (a list that really should be named, the best American-born Playoff rentals), I've changed my stance on whether Ottawa should pursue the 8th seed. Who cares if Ottawa needs to win 30 times to have a legitimate shot at the postseason? And more importantly who cares about optics? I don't care that only Detroit, Boston and San Jose won more than 30 games in the first half. It's all bullshit anyways. We've won two games in a row -- against Carolina and Atlanta -- so we're well on our way. And that is why my friends, your Ottawa Senators NEED Keith Tkachuk. Okay, quit laughing. Seriously, what's not like to about the prospect of acquiring Keith Tkachuk? He may be old and slow but this Senators team needs secondary scoring. So we may not the coveted puck-moving defencemen who can get the puck out of their end smoothly and jumpstart the transition game. Big deal. We've won two games in a row!
Even Eklund is reporting that Ottawa's rumored to be interested in Tkachuk! It's almost too good to be true! Fuck yeah! Playoffs!
