Considering how pissed off I was yesterday - today, I kind of feel like I've won 8 gold medals a drained a massive bong hit. I'm in that good of a mood. Naturally, there's been a ton of fall out since the Senators announced that Cory Clouston was promoted from Binghamton to take over from Craig Hartsburg. (Note: Don't ask Bryan Murray how to pronounce his guy's name, he apparently doesn't know either.)

Rob Ray on OTR:
"They made a big mistake in Ottawa when they got rid of John Muckler," Ray told OTR on Monday. “They got rid of a guy who had the respect of the players in the dressing room...there's a lot more going on there than you're seeing." ~ Rob Ray, OTR
"There's a lot more going on there than you're seeing."? Thank you to Bob Probert's personal punching bag for that vague allusion to the problems that stem from within the organization. Unfortunately for Ray, making a blanket statement like this loses all credibility when it's the follow up statement to: John Muckler's firing is the cause of all of this. Secondly, if you're going to come out and make some vague reference like that, have the balls to back it up with something. It'd be like me telling a best friend, "Hey, I saw your girlfriend with someone else last night." and then hanging up the phone.

"They made a big mistake in Ottawa when they got rid of John Muckler?" Seriously? I thought the knock on the Sens was that many of the mistakes they were making under Muckler were tolerable so long as the team was winning? Wasn't Ray pulling the same shit during the Stanley Cup year? Weren't the rampant drug abuse rumors at their apex during Muckler's tenure? Listen Rob, I know that Mucks is your neighbour in Buffalo, but he has another job for the next couple of weeks/months in Phoenix, you don't have to quit tooting his horn at every opportunity.

Bruce Garrioch Thinks They're Coach Killers:
The Senators players are gaining quite a reputation around the NHL as coach killers. While Clouston told reporters he was "excited," he might not be sure exactly what he's getting himself into. These players have proven they can outlast their coaches.
Bryan Murray:

"The problem with giving players away or trading a player for a draft pick ... (People) are worried about my job, I'm just worried about the kids growing up before I pass on." ~ Bryan Murray, The Ottawa Sun
Ok? So Bryan knows that he's going to have to rebuild, great. However, it seems as though he's more interested in a short-term rebuild.
"I'd like to be a competitive team sooner than later. That's why my intent here is to get as many players as we can in the fold, get them to perform at the level they are (capable of) and then the guys that don't, shuffle them out and hope to bring someone in."
Ken Campbell From THN:

Knocks one out of the park with this bang on analysis of the Senators current plight.
