I just purged this information from the HFBoards' Ottawa Senators Forum and apparently it was purged from THN's Prospect Watch magazine. That's whole lot of stealing of information and I'm just crossing my fingers that Lars Ulrich doesn't come knocking at my door.
Anyways, according to one poster at HFBoards:
The Hockey News has Karlsson ranked #7 and Elliot #35 in their Top 50 prospects list. Two prospects in the Top 50 and three in the Top 100? Bonerific! Who cares if it doesn't include prospects already playing in the NHL (obviously Elliott was called up after it went to publication). Perhaps the only concern is how low Jim O'Brien has fallen on that list? Or maybe it's indicative for how strong management drafted last year.
Karlsson is behind Filatov, Hodgson, Markstrom, Wilson, Pietrangelo, and Van Riemsdyk, and ahead of names like Giroux, Myers, and Rask.
Elliott is the 8th ranked goalie in the top 50, behind Markstrom, Rask, Varlamov, Pavelec, Pickard, Bernier, and Schneider, and ahead of Jake Allen.
Patrick Wiercioch is ranked as the number 74 overall prospect, and Ottawa's top ten list is as follows:
1. Erik Karlsson
2. Brian Elliott
3. Patrick Wiercioch
4. Ilya Zubov
5. Cody Bass
6. Zack Smith
7. Jim O'Brien
8. Peter Regin
9. Mattias Karlsson
10. Colin Greening
