Well, we've had some speculation from readers regarding who exactly is going to be joining us next Wednesday for our Live Trade Deadline Coverage. While we're not going to reveal any names until next Tuesday, we'll let you in on this - We've extended an olive branch (at the beginning of the month) to Don Brennan and here's what he had to say about our invitation:
Thanks Graeme. Even though its a month away and my schedule hasn't exactly been determined, I'm sure I'll be quite busy with what the Senators are doing. I generally say thanks but no thanks to requests to do radio and other such stuff on that day. I'm sure you understand.Sure Don. We at the The 6th Sens understand. We understand that this is like you're making plans for New Year's Even when you know deep down that you'll spend the day alone. We get it. But please, please, please refrain from the rumor mill. We've seen what you can concoct and while we realize that most rumors are fabricated and never come to fruition, we're just blown away by how bad yours are. Thanks for considering our offer for 2 minutes though. We appreciate it.
They Stink, They Really Stink
For a season that's been harder to watch than 2 Girls 1 Cup, we now have quantifiable evidence to support how bad the Senators have been this year. Buried within a Bruce Garrioch's article this morning is this little nugget of info:
The Senators' fate was pretty much sealed after that if you consider the fact they are 1-23-3 when trailing after two periods this season. At least they're still mathematically in it right?
Losing Money
According to ESPN's Bill Simmons, a source told him that 20 of 30 NBA teams are losing money this season. I don't even want to begin to imagine how the NHL is faring these days.
