I knew there was a percentage of the Ottawa Senators' fanbase that was really dumb. And to make it clear, I'm not talking about the uneducated dumb, wherein an irate caller will feel compelled enough to call into Team 1200's Over the Edge program about trading Tampa Bay's lottery pick for Chris Campoli and Mike Comrie. (Not realizing that they dealt San Jose's, the equivalent of losing a 2nd rounder.)

What I didn't know was how large of a dumb group of fans there was.

The Ottawa Sun ran a poll asking it's readers:
Would you pay Chris Neil $2.5 million a season to keep him with the Senators?
At the time I read the poll, a whopping 17% of Senators fans would have no problem paying Neil market value. Even more impressive is the fact that 83% of Sun readers disagreed with this take. So not only are there dumb fans that religiously read the Sun, almost one-fifth of those readers are inexcusably more dumb. Everybody, I'd like to introduce you to the Lloyd's and Harry's of your Sens Army.
