Look at Dany Heatley, that smug prick. Anyone who can wipe the omnipresent smile off of Terry Marcotte's face deserves to get run out of town. True to form, Dany Heatley's doing his best to preserve his selfish, asshole reputation by opting not to attend the Canadian Hockey Summit on August 18th in Toronto.

According to the Ottawa Sun:

OneGoal, an organization created to grow hockey among children, announced yesterday that the Senators winger won’t attend the Canadian Hockey Summit in Toronto on Aug. 18.

“OneGoal had not received a firm commitment from Mr. Heatley before publicizing his participation and he is not available to attend,” the non-profit group said in a release.

“OneGoal hopes to replace Mr. Heatley with another NHL player to provide his testimony to the importance of minor hockey in his personal and professional development.”

What are the odds that Heatley avoids Team Canada's camp later this summer? I mean assuming that he's not dealt by then and with news that the partaking players will not have insurance coverage, it's the perfect front for Heatley to avoid any ensuing media frenzy.

Sidney Crosby Out East = Who the Fuck Cares?

So if you're living in Canada, odds are you couldn't help but notice that Sidney Crosby is celebrating his 22nd birthday with the Stanley Cup in his home town of Cole Harbour, NS. The reason why we couldn't help but notice is that it was all over the radio, television and print publications. Seriously, this is how shitty this offseason has been for news -- Sidney Crosby penning an autograph onto a Sea King is supposed to be a compelling news story.

I think I speak for the rest of the non-Penguins fans when I say, wake us up when he decides to move out from Mario's basement.
