What the hell happened to the Associated Press and their ability to supply the country with properly constructed, unbiased and well written game recaps?

Why do I ask?

SAN JOSE, CALIF. -- Patrick Marleau said he didn't want to talk about the past, even though his Sharks sure look like they're buckling under the weight of their history.

His Sharks are at the brink of a humiliating post-season end to the best regular season in franchise history.

"It's something you learn from and move on," Marleau said, shrugging. "We can't be down in the dumps or anything like that ... As a team, we haven't played our best game, and we need more from everybody."

With a loss in Game 5 tonight, even their rookie coach realizes the Sharks would cement their REPUTATION AS PLAYOFF CHOKERS ON A LEVEL WITH THE SENATORS.

"We have to squash the reputation that we've developed," coach Todd McLellan said.

"We're probably a game or two late for already starting. Right now, our character is being questioned. It's our job to prove people right or wrong."

The Sharks have won four Pacific Division titles in the last seven seasons, but have never made it farther than the Western Conference final back in 2004.

Anaheim has outscored, outhit and outworked the Presidents' Trophy winners, who have been in three of the previous four playoffs.

On a level with the Senators? What the fucking fuck? Shitting on the Senators while they are down? Not cool Associated Press. Not cool. I guess all those fans who purchased the 2007 Eastern Conference Champions t-shirts have more reasons to feel like shit.
